Spring Break Study Tips

8 Tips For Studying At Home More Effectively | Oxford Learning

Spring break is arguably the best time in a university student’s life. Many students focus on having the most fun possible. However, this can have a negative impact on them when they get back to campus and need to get back into the habit of studying. For that reason, we have compiled a list of 3 very helpful study tips.

The first tip is to use time to your advantage. If you are traveling for spring break, use your transportation time to brush up on lecture notes. An extra 30 minutes of studying really goes a long way, so pinching in those last few slides of notes is worth it. The second study tip is to use the 20/20 rule. When you are studying during spring break, it is very easy to get distracted. Using the 20/20 rule allows you to stay focused on your work for a longer period. It’s simple, all you need to do is work for twenty minutes, then take a twenty-minute break. This way, you are limiting the time you get for both studying and relaxing, which leads to you getting more work done. Most people spend a lot of their studying time on their phone. This can discourage them from getting any work done at all. With the 20/20 rule, you know what time is allocated to working and what time is allocated to relaxing, which leads to you focusing on your work and properly relaxing. The third and final tip is to make sure you get enough rest. When you overwork your brain, it can cause you to be less productive in the long run. Making sure you are getting enough rest can help reboot your brain and allow you to retain more information while you are studying.
